I’m Katy Rose; a writer, shivanaut, dreamer, meditator, mental health volunteer, teacher, Psychology graduate and Neuroscience student at the University of Sussex.
Please call me Rose for short.

I’m a dreamy down-to-earth, eccentric, winged-being; learning to soar.

For my writing on Shivanata, Neuroscience, Psychology or Mental health, please head over to The Phoenix Mind.

I spend my spare time reading, taking photographs, teaching shivanata and writing novels. To look at my reading list and examples of my painting and photography, please visit my interests page.

At 21, I have completed two novels with a fifth in progress, almost finished my bachelor’s degree, begun my masters in neuroscience and work in the mental health sector with young people and vulnerable adults. I lead Shivanata sessions and co-run meditation classes. I’m also a published poet, Reiki practitioner, vocalist, dancer & lyricist.

I met my 21st birthday with a year dedicated to pushing myself to the edge, investigating the power behind human thought and writing poetry, novels and this blog. This is a safe space to explore various principles and theories about living life to the full, breaking old barriers, becoming mindful and re-programming people’s thinking.

In short, I begin studying the psychology and biology of habits – how thoughts shape our actions at Sussex University in September 2011 and in my spare time, am focusing on simplifying my life, earning money, helping those in need and living life to the full. This year, I’m focusing on Strength; in the physical, mental and emotion capacity. Generally, the experiment involves pushing my boundaries and therefore expanding my potential.

To really understand me, take a glance at what influences my trail-blazing light and find out what I’m best at on a social level.

If you’d like some support, head on over to the soaring store for a well-deserved rest, or flitter on over to Twitter and say hello.
And if you come to a meditation class, shivanata session or meet up with me in Brighton, be prepared to receive the flowers I’ve gathered on my way to see you. You’re allowed to wear them in your hair, shirt holes, bag or pockets. Or leave them on the table for someone else to find after we’ve left.

In light,
Rose

  1. Hi, nice to meet you !

  2. Hi Rose, I figured it would be easier to introduce myself here than to try in 140 characters or less. Plus, i’m new to Twitter, so I’m not sure you can even read my tweets if you aren’t following me (@shannamann, just in case). I gave Philip a BodyTalk tonight (1:30 am GMT) and the message is to go to bed and sleep til he wakes up: no alarm clocks allowed (in order to allow the treatment to process)

There is no followup indicated for him, but interestingly, YOU are indicated for a BodyTalk in the morning, unless you are opposed.

Goodness knows this is all out of the blue, you don’t know me from Eve, but, yeah. I try to follow my intuition as much as possible, and I’m supposed to do this, so here I am.

I’m at -6 gmt, so my morning will be your noon, but I very much look forward to “meeting” you this way. You seem like you might be the kinda person who might even be delighted by this serendipitous turn of affairs.
    Shanna
